The annual Looe Music Festival in September brings the summer to a close in style in this corner of Cornwall. The beach, harbourside and the streets of Looe come alive with music, colour and culture for a weekend extravaganza which attracts music-lovers of all genres to a unique seaside festival.
This year the festival takes place from 18th – 20th September. 3-Day tickets are available, giving you access to all ticketed areas throughout the event. You can buy tickets online here.
For such a young event (2011 was its inaugural year) Looe Music Festival has succeeded in attracting big names since the beginning, including Reef, The Darkness, Hayseed Dixie, Seth Lakeman, Levellers and The Brand New Heavies – and this year is no exception.
Already The Proclaimers and Jools Holland & His Rhythm and Blues Orchestra have joined an increasingly packed line-up for what looks set to be the biggest event yet.
The festival embraces its unique location, popping up in the heart of our seaside town with stages on the beach and the bustling harbour. As the organisers say, “Wherever you look there are amazing views, side streets to explore, pubs to lose a day in…”
The atmosphere is energetic, with foot-stomping tunes pouring from every stage, pub and street corner and the friendly festival feel means the event is great for families too.
All accommodation options fill up for the weekend, and early booking is recommended. The Fieldhead Hotel is ideally positioned for those looking to be close to the action but also in a secluded location, combining easy access with a peaceful retreat after a long day enjoying the entertainment.
